Privacy policy
How Godly Matrimony collects, uses and protects your personal data.

Our commitments
- Sensitive details such as contact information, employer and income are private by default.
- We collect only what is needed to recommend compatible matches and keep members safe.
- We never sell your personal data, and we don’t show advertising.
- Family members only see what the candidate allows.
- You can pause your profile, download your data or delete your account at any time.
Who is responsible
Godly Matrimony is responsible for your personal data (the “data fiduciary” under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, and the “controller” under the UK and EU GDPR for members living there).
What we collect
- Account details: name, email address, mobile number and password (stored only as a secure hash).
- Profile details you choose to add: age, faith and church, family, education, work, lifestyle, photos and partner preferences.
- Activity on the site: interests, messages, reports, and records of voice calls (when and how long; calls are never recorded).
- Payments: the package bought and payment reference. Card and bank details are handled by the payment provider, not stored by us.
- Technical data: sign-in sessions and security logs, used to keep accounts safe.
Why we use it
- To run your account and recommend compatible matches, with your consent given when you join.
- To keep members safe: verifying emails and mobile numbers, moderating photos and handling reports.
- To process payments and meet legal obligations such as tax records.
- To send the emails and messages you’ve asked for. You can change these in Email preferences.
Who can see it
- Other members see only what your profile settings allow. Contact details are shared only if you choose to share them with a connection.
- Our staff see what they need for their role (for example, moderating photos). Every access to sensitive data is logged.
- Service providers who process data for us: Amazon Web Services (hosting in Mumbai, India), email and SMS providers, payment providers (Razorpay, Stripe) and, if voice calls are used, LiveKit. They may use it only to provide their service.
- Authorities, only where the law requires it.
Where it is stored, and for how long
Your data is stored in India (AWS Mumbai). If you delete your account, it is permanently erased after a 14-day grace period, except minimal payment records we must keep by law. Backups are overwritten within 30 days.
Your rights
- See and download your data (Account settings → Download my data).
- Correct your details at any time from your profile.
- Withdraw consent and delete your account (Account settings → Pause or close).
- Nominate someone to exercise your rights if you’re unable to, and complain to us or to the Data Protection Board of India (or your local regulator in the UK or EU).
Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and secure. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.
Children
Godly Matrimony is only for adults aged 18 and over.
